Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan Movie Review : Salman Khan's Eid releases have always been highly anticipated by his hardcore loyalists, who eagerly await his larger-than-life blockbusters. However, this time, "Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan" might not be the perfect Eidi from Bhaijaan. The film, directed by Farhad Samji, falls short of expectations with its paper-thin plot, mediocre music, and lack of engaging storytelling.
The film revolves around Bhaijaan (Salman Khan) and his three brothers, Luv, Ishq, and Moh, played by Raghav Juyal, Jassi Gill, and Siddharth Nigam, respectively. The trio sets out on a mission to find a perfect match for their brother so that they can also be with their ladyloves without any guilt. They succeed in setting him up with their new tenant, Bhagya Lakshmi (Pooja Hegde), who shares her name with his ex-girlfriend. However, things get complicated when Bhagya's family's enemy, Nageshwar (Jagapati Babu), comes into the picture with a desire to finish their clan.
The film's plot is weak and lacks logic, relying heavily on blood-soaked action sequences that fail to create a compelling narrative. The romantic subplots between the three brothers and their love interests, played by Vinali Bhatnagar, Shehnaaz Gill, and Palak Tiwari, respectively, are unoriginal and uninspired. The characters are underdeveloped and do not add much value to the film's entertainment quotient or the performances of the cast.
The songs of the film are forgettable, but the magnificent sets and stunning visuals help make them tolerable. Salman Khan, as Bhaijaan, manages to make his character endearing with his real-life persona shining through. He cracks a few self-deprecating jokes, which are the only moments that evoke chuckles in the film. The action sequences, choreographed by ANL Arasu, are impressive and filled with seeti-maar moments.
Pooja Hegde looks beautiful and delivers a solid performance as Bhagya, although at times, her acting feels overly dramatic. Telugu superstar Venkatesh's character transformation in the climax scene is noteworthy and gives goosebumps. However, other actors such as Raghav Juyal, Jassi Gill, Siddharth Nigam, Vijender Singh, and Palak Tiwari fail to leave a convincing impact. Jagapati Babu, as Nageshwar, stands out with his good performance.
"Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan" caters predominantly to Salman Khan's loyal fanbase, offering a grand action-packed experience with comedy and dramatic flair. However, the film fails to entertain as a whole due to its weak plot, lack of engaging storytelling, and an overcrowded cast of characters that becomes a distracting factor. It is a testament to the fact that stardom alone cannot ensure a film's success if the story does not engage or move the audience.
In today's evolved taste and palette of the audience, a shoddy remake or a rehash with copy-paste action scenes won't make the cut anymore. The film falls short of the expectations set by Salman Khan's previous successes, such as "Pathaan" with Shah Rukh Khan, where the simple premise and setting allowed Salman Khan to showcase his stardom in full glory. "Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan" lacks the same level of fun and engagement.
